Cupra Marittima

The Project - In 2005 a protocol agreement signed by Legambiente Turismo, the Associazione Cuprense Operatori Turistici and the Municipality of Cupra Marittima starts another project to improve the environmental quality in the tourist offer at the Riviera Picena, as an element to further qualify this destination.

The Place - This pleasant Adriatic little town is located on the Riviera delle Palme: its beach facilities are among the most modern in Marches. But the past still lingers around and not only through the name of the town itself, which reminds of an ancient Italic goddess called Cupra. The alleys in the old borough of Marano behind Cupra Marittima still lead uphill to the Romanic Church of Santa Maria di Castello and other Roman heritage is in the area. The Museo Archeologico with its wide collection of shells is another interesting attraction.

Membership - Tourist businesses joining the Legambiente Turismo scheme best reproduce the variety of the tourist accommodation offer in Cupra Marittima: among entrepreneurs committed to eco-friendly management of their businesses there are hotels, holiday farms, campsites and a bathing establishment.
