Environmental quality in the Netherlands

On the Dutch coast and islands, in the national parks and inland waters the "Environmental Barometer" shows visitors what level of environmental quality is offered by campsite or holiday park, with its wide range of leisure facilities for families, youth groups and other visitors. Since 1998 more than 220 campsites, holiday parks and youth hostels have been awarded with one of the three different categories of the ecolabel. Bronze is good, Silver is even better and Gold fulfils even the high standards of "Milieukeur", the state ecolabel. Visitors can enjoy their holidays at these sites with a clear conscience.
